Chanuka
Svátek, který je připomínkou znovuvysvěcení Chrámu v Jeruzalémě. Tam tenkrát našli jedinou nádobu s olejem. Ten však vydržel hořet osm dní, dokud nebyl vyroben olej nový. A stejně dlouho proto trvá i Chanuka. Slaví se většinou v prosinci a je to svátek světel. Proč? Rozsvěcuje se chanukový svícen – chanukije. Děti dostávají dárky. A ruku na srdce, dárky si mezi sebou rádi dávají i dospělí.
Jak oslavujeme: Většinou se začíná těšením. Těšením na svátek, kdy všechno září, vládne klid a pohoda a stoly se prohýbají výborným jídlem. Každý večer se zapaluje svíčka nebo nádobka s olejem na chanukiji. Hraje se drejdl – doslova hazardní hra o peníze. Ovšem, často o ty čokoládové. Nebo o bonbóny. Připomínají se vybrané příběhy z Tóry, zpívá se, návštěvy si podávají dveře a kila letí nahoru.
Co jíme: Jelikož je v hlavní roli Chanuky olej, hraje prim i v kuchyni. Takže se smaží. Hodně. Tradicí jsou koblížky plněné marmeládou nebo bramboráky. A k tomu mléko, mléčné výrobky a všemožné sladkosti.
Co si přejeme: Na přáníčka, na dárkové kartičky i třeba do mailové korespondence se píše „Chag Chanuka sameach“. Tedy „Šťastnou Chanuku“.
