Israeli film from 2007 "King of Beggars" (in Hebrew: מלך של קבצנים, Melech Shel Kabzanim). The film was directed by Uri Paster and stars Shahar Sorek, Mosko Alkalai and Amos Lavi. The story is based on the book "The Book of Beggars" by Mendele Mocher Sforim and follows Fishke, a Jewish spa servant, who becomes a warrior and leads the first Jewish unit in Russia during anti-Jewish pogroms in the 17th century. The film won the Golden Remi Award at the Houston WorldFest festival.
