Some of the T-shirts have the number 1948 written on them. The number refers to May 14, 1948, when the modern state of Israel was founded. It happened after David Ben Gurion read the Israeli Declaration of Independence in Tel Aviv, and Rabbi Fischman said a Shehecheyan prayer. This declaration was confirmed by the signatures of the members of the Provisional State Council. In the same year, the Israeli State Emblem proposal was selected in a public tender. It forms a blue shield. It depicts a menorah, a seven-armed candlestick from the Jerusalem Temple and a symbol of Judaism. On its sides are two olive branches, which symbolize peace, and at the bottom of the emblem is the Hebrew inscription Israel (ישראל). The color design is traditionally blue-white, but it can also be blue-gold.
