    Králové Izraele – v této knize, která je závěrečným dílem volné trilogie tanachických příběhů, se završí biblické osudy židovského národa, které jsme sledovali od skromných počátků v časech praotců (v knize Příběhy Tóry), po dobytí Jeruzaléma králem Davidem (v knize Izrael soudců a králů). Jádro našeho vyprávění pojednává o době, kdy v Jeruzalémě stával první (Šalomounův) Chrám a v jeho stínu vládli králové Davidovy dynastie.

    Dílo je v našem kontextu výjimečné nejen židovským úhlem pohledu na „obecně známá“ témata, ale také pedagogickým záměrem díla, které v předmluvě ke knize vyzdvihl vrchní zemský rabínEfraim K. Sidon.
