Product detailed description
Binyamina Teva Muscat is a semi-dry white wine made of Muscat grapes from vineyards in the Judean Plains and the southern Lachish region, together with Canelli Muscat grapes from vineyards in the Lower Galilee and Gilboa. The fine grape quality and production method combine to create a refreshing, aromatic and tropical white wine, with a subtle sweetness. The Muscat of Alexandria grape variety is one of the oldest commercialized vine varieties known to wine growers. It thrives in hot, dry climates where it reaches optimal aromatic ripening and is relatively resistant to heat waves and dehydration.
Winemaking Process
The Muscat grapes are harvested when aromatic ripening is optimal. Following arrival at the winery and after destemming and gentle crushing, the grapes are pressed to extract the must. After natural clarification, the chilled must begins alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures in order to maintain the aromas typical of this variety. When fermentation is complete, the wine undergoes stabilization and the final blend is selected and sent for bottling.
Tasting Notes
Teva Muscat is characterized by a clear and glossy light yellow color. The nose releases tropical and floral notes, characteristic of this variety. The palate is fruity and refreshingly effervescent with a subtle sweetness balanced by a pleasant acidity. The wine has a light, very fruity and sweet character and is satisfying for both novices and experienced wine drinkers. It is considered a relatively old variety in Israel and is favored by vintners from the fertile growing regions in central and southern Israel.
